Son Quint
Designer: Ramón Espinosa
A few kilometres from Palma, the capital of the island, you will find the 3 courses that comprise the Arabella Golf Resort in Mallorca. The traditional and legendary Son Vida, the spectacular & magnificent Son Muntaner, and the most recent 18 hole course, Son Quint, which opened in September 2007.
Ramon Espinosa of "Garden & Golf" designed the 18 hole course with two big lakes, which extends throughout 6200 metres of spectacular Mallorcan countryside and through pine & ancient olive trees. Thanks to its elevated position Son Quint has an amazing view of the lively Palma area, and the sparkling sea of the bay of Palma. The well-placed bunkers will challenge experienced golfers, and four different tee-box positions enable a variety of play.
The grass at Son Quint is dense and an intensely green colour, even in the high summer temperatures. For this purpose Ramon Espinosa has chosen the fine "Princess" type of grass. After an exceptional round of golf you will be able to enjoy the superb clubhouse with its excellent facilities and swimming pool.
Carlo Knauss, ex-federal golf trainer of Germany; sports commentator of PPV Premiere & consultant for the new Son Quint golf course, commented,
"Son Quint will appeal to players looking for variety and something a little special. For example at hole 8, the highest point on the course, you tee-off facing directly towards Palma Cathedral."
According to Son Vida and Son Muntaner's former course manager James Arnold, Son Quint falls between the two existing courses in length (6199m) and difficulty, and is a gentler test than Son Muntaner.
